Mr President , first of all the title of the resolution should be Freedom of Expression rather than Freedom of Religion because , as was mentioned earlier , Falun Gong is not a religion but rather a practice comparable to yoga in the West.Secondly , the repression against Falun Gong is totally absurd. Can you imagine repression against all the people who ever follow yoga classes in Europe. The Chinese Government goes so far as to imprison cyber - dissidents meaning people who create or manage websites whose content does not please the government like Mr Huan Qi who is being tried now.Finally , you should stop supporting the EU/China human rights dialogue as long as it does not yield any result. Its only concrete outcome so far has been to prevent a resolution condemning China in Geneva. This process needs to be reactivated

China ist weit davon entfernt , Meinungs - oder gar Religionsfreiheit zuzulassen für Tibeter , Mongolen , christliche Kirchen oder muslimische Gemeinden. Die Tibeter werden verfolgt
– Mr President , I would like to say something today about the human rights situation in Romania , with specific reference to the MISA yoga school and the visa for its founder , Gregorian Bivolaru.On 21 October 2005 , the Swedish supreme court ruled that Mr Bivolaru , the founder of the MISA yoga school , should not be handed over to the Romanian justice system on the grounds that his personal beliefs meant that he could not expect a fair trial in Romania. He was granted political asylum in December of the same year. Proceedings in Romania against 39 persons associated with the MISA school of yoga have still not yet been concluded. Freedom of religion and an independent justice system are fundamental to the European Union , and Romania’s accession in 2007 is conditional upon them. Romania’s and Bulgaria’s accessions are , of course , on the order of business for tomorrow
Herr Präsident. Ich möchte heute über die Menschenrechtssituation in Rumänien und speziell über die Yogaschule MISA und das Visum für ihren Gründer Gregorian Bivolaru sprechen.Am 21. Oktober 2005 hat der oberste schwedische Gerichtshof entschieden , Gregorian Bivolaru , Gründer der Yogaschule MISA nicht an die rumänische Justiz auszuliefern , weil ihn in Rumänien aufgrund seiner Überzeugung kein fairer Prozess erwartete. Im Dezember desselben Jahres wurde ihm politisches Asyl gewährt. Das Verfahren gegen 39 Personen aus dem Umfeld der Yogaschule MISA ist in Rumänien immer noch nicht abgeschlossen. Religionsfreiheit und eine unabhängige Justiz sind fundamentale Grundlagen der Europäischen Union und Grundvoraussetzung für einen Beitritt Rumäniens 2007. Morgen stehen ja die Beitritte Rumäniens und Bulgariens auf der Tagesordnung. Ich halte es für wichtig , dass die Menschenrechtssituation in den derzeitigen und auch in den zukünftigen Mitgliedstaaten von diesem Haus weiter sehr genau verfolgt wird
