Die Bezieher kleiner Einkommen können der Inflation nicht entgehen wie die Bezieher großer Einkommen. Sie werden unmittelbar davon betroffen , und diese Menschen erwarten von uns , daß wir alles tun , um sicherzustellen , daß der Euro eine stabile Währung sein wird. Hätte ich dort auf dem Marktplatz Herrn Soros oder Herrn Costollany getroffen , die ihr Geld mit der Spekulation verdienen , dann hätten die natürlich andere Sorgen gehabt , denn wir wissen , daß man mit der Inflation auch Geld verdienen kann. Und da bin ich bei dem zweiten Grund , weshalb die Stabilität der Währung so wichtig ist : Inflation lenkt die Investitionen in die falsche Richtung , in unproduktive Richtungen. Wenn wir wollen , daß in die Zukunft investiert wird , daß in Arbeitsplätze investiert wird , dann brauchen wir als Grundlage dafür als allererstes eine stabile Währung |
