I know what I am talking about , because in my country , Poland , the number of children and young people who are obese or overweight is increasing at an alarming rate. I should like to believe that long - term positive results will emerge from the European Parliament's effort to draw attention to the inadequacies of the European educational system in this regard , and from its suggestions for remedial measures
Ich weiß , wovon ich spreche , denn in meinem Heimatland Polen erhöht sich die Zahl der von Fettleibigkeit bzw. Übergewicht betroffenen Kinder und jungen Menschen mit alarmierender Geschwindigkeit. Ich hoffe , dass die Bemühungen des Europäischen Parlaments , auf die Unzulänglichkeiten des europäischen Bildungssystems in diesem Bereich aufmerksam zu machen , und seine Vorschläge für Gegenmaßnahmen langfristig zu positiven Ergebnissen führen werden
