Mr President , this question is unrelated to the dreadful accident that occurred recently in Spain , but that accident was another clear indication of the need for rules in this area , a need which has been addressed until now almost exclusively by the national authorities responsible , or through agreements between organizations of camping and caravan site operators

When the market is dominated by the profit motive , it is difficult to supply high - quality drugs at low prices in the developing countries

Natürlich geht es um konkrete Schritte und Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Krankheiten. Aber allgemeine gesellschaftliche Zusammenhänge dürfen nicht ausgeblendet werden. Menschen , die in Armut leben , haben keine Kraft , sich den tödlichen Krankheiten zu widersetzen , und verfügen auch nicht über jene Mittel , die für Medikamente nötig sind. In Heerscharen auf der Flucht , auf offenem Feld oder in Zelten kampierend werden sie eine leichte Beute der Seuchen. Wo das Profitstreben den Markt beherrscht , ist es schwer , preiswerte Medikamente mit hoher Qualität in den Entwicklungsländern anzubieten. Doch gerade auf diesem Gebiet muss die Politik ihre Verantwortung erkennen und ihr mehr gerecht werden

The somewhat complicated and long - winded reply that I gave is based on a fairly careful analysis of the situation. The simple conclusion is that there is no need for a passport , so I can only repeat that. As we see it , it is quite clear that the implementation of the Schengen acquis in the Nordic countries will not entail the requirement to show a passport. Once the Nordic countries have joined in the practical Schengen cooperation , the citizens of the Nordic countries will still have the right to travel within the territory of the Nordic countries and spend the night at hotels , camping sites etc
Ich möchte Folgendes fragen : Soll Ihrer Meinung nach im Ausweis eines europäischen Bürgers gemäß den Richtlinien 68/360 und 74/148 der Europäischen Gemeinschaften und auch auf der Grundlage des Gerichtsurteils in der Rechtssache Vincenzo Micheletti dessen Staatsangehörigkeit erwähnt sein. Ja oder Nein. Ohne Erwähnung der Staatsangehörigkeit besteht nämlich die Gefahr , dass er sich , wie bereits Herr Kollege Sjöstedt sagte , nicht aufhalten darf.
