| All Italian institutions - and I say this to Mr Tajani , to Mrs Angelilli and to other members of the opposition - from the City of Rome to regional authorities , right down to the smallest local council , are committed to this. It is undignified to sling mud at the degree of civilisation and integration that our country has achieved over the years.I hope that the European Parliament will reaffirm its refusal of the principle of collective responsibility , which is used to incite hatred and violence in the heart of Europe.What we need to affirm instead is the need to combat any form of racism and xenophobia , and any discrimination based on nationality and ethnic background. We have a road map for this : the Charter of Fundamental Rights. It is important that we do our best , as the Italian and Romanian Prime Ministers have asked , to ensure better social integration of disadvantaged peoples and cooperation between Member States , both in terms of managing the movements of our own migratory flows and through social development and welfare programmes financed by the Structural Funds | Es ist würdelos , Schmutz auf das von unserem Land im Lauf der Jahre erreichte Maß an Zivilisation und Integration zu schmeißen.Ich hoffe , dass das Europäische Parlament seine Ablehnung des Prinzips der Kollektivverantwortung erneut bekräftigt , das verwendet wird , um Hass und Gewalt im Herzen Europas zu schüren.Was wir hingegen erneut bekräftigen müssen , ist die notwendige Bekämpfung jegliche Form des Rassismus und der Fremdenfeindlichkeit und jegliche Diskriminierung aufgrund der nationalen oder ethnischen Zugehörigkeit. Wir haben einen Fahrplan dafür : die Charta der Grundrechte. Es ist wichtig , dass wir gemäß der Forderung des italienischen und des rumänischen Premierministers unser Bestes für die soziale Integration benachteiligter Menschen und für die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Mitgliedstaaten tun , sowohl im Hinblick auf die Handhabung unserer eigenen Migrantenströme als auch im Hinblick auf von den Strukturfonds finanzierten sozialen Entwicklungs - und Wohlfahrtsprogrammen.Was wir in Zukunft tun müssen , ist einfach : Niemand von uns darf vergessen , dass Immigration eine Ressource ist , sie ist Teil unserer Zukunft , sie muss jedoch reguliert werden |
