I would point out here , and the Commission should bear this in mind , that my country , Italy , has stated its readiness to host the plenipotentiary diplomatic conference.If we are to exert as much influence as possible the Union must agree a common position , as quickly as possible , on the need for a court of this kind and it must voice that common position during the next General Assembly of the UN
In diesem Zusammenhang möchte ich noch darauf hinweisen , und ich bitte die Kommission dies zur Kenntnis zu nehmen , daß mein Land , das heißt die italienische Regierung , sich bereits als Tagungsort für die Bevollmächtigte Diplomatenkonferenz zur Verfügung gestellt hat.Das Parlament fordert deshalb die Europäische Union , die irische Präsidentschaft und die Kommission auf - und deshalb wende ich mich an Sie , Herr Kommissar , in der Hoffnung auf eine positive Antwort - im Rahmen ihrer Zuständigkeiten alle erforderlichen Anstrengungen zu unternehmen , damit die Position der Union abgestimmt wird und die fünfzehn Länder sich mit einer Stimme zu dieser Frage äußern können
