| I am grateful to the Commissioner for the cooperation that has been established , which has grown stronger and stronger and become invaluable , to the extent that our positions have become very broadly convergent. I thank Mr Lewis , the Council representative : I thank him today for the perfect courtesy with which he has conducted his dialogue with Parliament ; I should like to thank him tomorrow for the positive responses that I hope the Council will give us during conciliation.My thanks also go to Chairman Lewandowski and the staff and secretaries that have assisted me , particularly my peerless assistant – please excuse this personal note , but it is sincere and well - deserved – in the gruelling work of recent months ; I am sure she will continue to do it | Ich danke Herrn Lewis als Vertreter des Rates : Ich danke ihm heute für die ausgesuchte Höflichkeit , mit der er den Dialog mit dem Parlament geführt hat ; morgen würde ich ihm gern für die positiven Antworten danken , die uns der Rat hoffentlich im Vermittlungsverfahren geben wird.Ein Wort des Dankes auch an den Ausschussvorsitzenden Lewandowski und sein Team sowie an die Sekretäre , insbesondere an meine unvergleichliche Assistentin – verzeihen Sie mir diese persönliche Bemerkung , die jedoch ehrlich gemeint und geboten ist – , die mir bei der harten Arbeit der letzten Monate zur Seite stand und , dessen bin ich mir sicher , dies auch weiterhin tun wird |
