Voller Stolz möchte ich auch daran erinnern , dass die Führer meiner Partei und viele ihrer Mitglieder sich aktiv an der Bewegung für politische Unabhängigkeit – – beteiligt haben. Danken möchte ich heute zudem zwei großen Führern der westlichen Welt , deren unerschütterliche Haltung in den 80er Jahren dazu beigetragen hat , die Fesseln zu sprengen , die die Völker Ost - und Mitteleuropas eingeengt haben. Mein Dank gilt Premierministerin Margaret Thatcher und Präsident Ronald Reagan. Unsere große Aufgabe besteht nun darin sicherzustellen , dass die Früchte der Wiedervereinigung des Kontinents gerecht unter allen Völkern des Neuen Europa aufgeteilt werden. Unsere Fraktion der Union für das Europa der Nationen wird alles in ihren Kräften Stehende tun , damit das Neue Europa dem Wort Solidarität eine neue Bedeutung verleiht. Wir müssen uns daher alle nach Kräften darum bemühen
