I should like to thank the Commissioner for proposing this in the first place and accepting the final settlement , the Council and , most importantly , my colleagues in the Committee on Transport. I am , as I said before , an interloper from the trade community and it was certainly an interesting and useful exercise for me to see how trade policy and transport policy have in this case come together in an extremely satisfactory manner

Mr President , like everybody else , I too would like to pay tribute to our two rapporteurs for their cross - party working. Indeed , I must say that when Mr Kinnock referred to a family reunion I feel like something of an interloper. We wanted to ensure that the ELDR voice was heard tonight , heard to congratulate our rapporteurs and the Commissioner and to say that we very much support the work that is being done in this reform process
Herr Präsident. Wie meine Vorredner möchte auch ich unseren beiden Berichterstattern für ihre Arbeit über alle Fraktionsgrenzen hinweg danken. Ich muss sogar sagen , während Herr Kinnock davon sprach , dass hier eine Art Familie zusammenkommt , fühle ich mich eher wie ein Eindringling. Wir wollten sichergehen , dass die Stimme der ELDR heute Abend vernommen wird , dass gehört wird , dass sie unsere Berichterstatter und den Kommissar beglückwünscht und die in diesem Reformprozess geleistete Arbeit sehr unterstützt
