Mr President , it is truly unbelievable that the once so prosperous Zimbabwe , potentially Southern Africa s breadbasket , has made such a rapid decline into economic and political chaos

Corruption was rife , and the country was mercilessly plundered. Grinding poverty , hyperinflation and even bread shortages followed , and grain had to be imported as a result of the maladministration , even though Bulgaria was once the breadbasket of Eastern Europe. Fortunately , President Stoyanov was able to persuade the Bulgarian Socialist Party that this could not continue , and an interim government is now in place
Korruption und Ausplünderung des Landes werden in großem Stil betrieben. Große Armut , Hyperinflation und sogar Brotmangel sind die Folgen. Aufgrund von Veruntreuungen muß sogar viel Geld für die Einfuhr von Getreide aufgewendet werden , obwohl Bulgarien einst eine Kornkammer war. Zum Glück konnte Präsident Stojanow die Bulgarische Sozialistische Partei davon überzeugen , daß es so nicht weitergehen konnte , und es wurde eine Interimregierung gebildet
