Im Wesentlichen geht es um die verschwenderische Verwendung einer natürlichen Ressource , das heißt , die Subventionierung der Energieerzeugung auf Kosten der natürlichen Umwelt und der rund um das Abbaugebiet lebenden Menschen. Dieses Wasser findet keinen Niederschlag im Strompreis , wodurch der Energiemarkt verzerrt und außerdem der Einsatz erneuerbarer Energiequellen erschwert wird. Der Preis von in Flaschen abgefülltem Grundwasser ist mindestens ein Tausend Mal höher als der von Wasser , das von den Wasserwerken in europäischen Großstädten kommt
