Mr President , in June last year , we debated the First Reading of a Commission proposal on the regulation on structural business statistics , in order to add to it two sectoral annexes , one of which relates to credit institutions and the other to pension funds and , at the same time , to extend the scope of the regulation to other financial institutions , pension funds and credit and insurance auxiliaries

Im Juni letzten Jahres haben wir uns hier in erster Lesung zu einem Vorschlag der Kommission betreffend die Verordnung über die strukturelle Unternehmensstatistik geäußert , um diese um zwei sektorspezifische Anhänge , von denen sich der eine auf Kreditinstitute , der andere auf Pensionsfonds bezieht , zu ergänzen und um gleichzeitig den Anwendungsbereich der Verordnung auf sonstige Finanzinstitute , Pensionsfonds und Kredit - und Versicherungshilfstätigkeiten auszuweiten
Mr President , because it has never been proved that , employee for employee and hour of work for hour of work , the Manpower solution to providing session auxiliaries was any cheaper , and because Parliament is constantly trying to make savings , we propose to help it by adding , at the end of paragraph 31 , the following sentence : reject as too expensive the solution of using a temping agency to replace session auxiliaries'. - Before the vote on Amendment 7 :

The Secretary - General informs me that we have problems with certain auxiliaries who are involved in an emerging dispute. The security officers are trying to ensure that everything takes place in its normal fashion , but we are facing difficulties as a result of the attitude of certain contracted workers who are affected by industrial arrangements. I understand the reasons for security , but I do think that there needs to be courtesy and respect for our roles on both sides
