Mr President , first of all I would like to pay tribute to all who served on the recent EU election observation mission to Pakistan , particularly the members of my core team and also the European Parliament delegation led by Miss Grönfeldt Bergman

They therefore say , as Mrs Grönfeldt Bergman just did , that the arguments in favour of EMU are not economic but political. It does not sound especially convincing when it is economists who say this , as if they were arguing in favour of entering this political union on grounds contrary to those of practical economic sense
Es klingt nicht besonders überzeugend , wenn dies von Ökonomen kommt , denn es hört sich an , als ob sie dafür argumentieren , wider die praktische wirtschaftliche Vernunft in diese politische Union einzutreten. Es ist nicht leicht , dem schwedischen Volk diese Botschaft zu verkaufen. Die Wahrheit ist , dass die WWU nicht der erwartete Erfolg geworden ist
