That may be so , but anyone who has been to Kosovo recently knows that the military and police actions against the civilian population can only be described as disproportionate.When you see the shelled houses , destroyed villages , burnt - down farms and schools , when you see the wheat fields casually set alight and the slaughtered cattle , it becomes clear that the reaction of the Serb police and the Yugoslav army to KLA attacks is excessive and indefensible

Ich kann nachvollziehen , wie schwierig es für Israel ist , den ersten Schritt zu tun. Die Lage im Libanon zum Beispiel ist seit Jahren unerträglich : Das Land wurde von Israel unter Granatenbeschuss genommen und von Syriens Truppen besetzt , und beide müssen den Libanon nun unterstützen , damit es Stabilität auf seinem Territorium gewährleisten kann. Auf den Rückzug der Israelis hat der Libanon verantwortungsvoll reagiert. Israel hält allerdings noch immer einzelne kleine libanesische Gebiete im Süden des Landes besetzt. Außerdem hat die israelische Seite bisher keine Karten über die Lage von Landminen übergeben und so eine Räumung der Minen verhindert , was dazu geführt hat , dass seit dem israelischen Rückzug neun Schäfer durch Minen getötet wurden
