Mr President , this is not a point of order. I would just like to express my thanks to the Commissioner. I hope that the existence of the substance in countries other than Sweden will also be investigated since we know that it has been used.I would also like to gratify my colleague Mr Olsson and say that of course I hope that people , animals and nature will live on , and live on as intensely as my continued criticism of the EU

Ich hoffe , daß man auch das Vorkommen des Stoffes in anderen Staaten als Schweden untersuchen wird , da wir wissen , daß er eingesetzt worden ist.Ich möchte auch meinem Kollegen Olsson eine Freude machen und sagen , daß ich natürlich hoffe , daß Menschen , Tiere und Natur leben werden , und zwar etwa ebenso intensiv wie meine weitere Kritik an der EU
Mr President , if I had to describe the summit which took place in my beloved Florence in a few words , I would have to say Florence was two steps backwards and certainly not a good summit , President Santer. The first grounds for saying that is the incredible arrangement over the mad cow crisis , which may gratify John Major but certainly cannot be described as a serious agreement and one to dispel the image of a choice designed to export the problem out of the European Union , which instead is what it suggests
Sehr geehrte Herren Präsidenten. Wenn ich das Gipfeltreffen in meiner Heimatstadt Florenz ganz kurz und bündig beschreiben müßte , so würde ich sagen : Florenz , zwei Schritte zurück , und ganz gewiß kein guter Gipfel , Herr Santer. Ein erster Aspekt davon ist der unglaubliche Kuhhandel mit dem Rinderwahnsinn , der vielleicht für John Major Grund zur Genugtuung gewesen sein mag , sicher aber keine ernsthafte Abmachung war , die den Eindruck vermieden hätte , man wolle das Problem aus der Europäischen Union ausführen
