On the one hand , the report says that the military activities of the Taliban do not pose a direct threat to Afghanistan's sovereignty , and on the other hand there is the warning that Afghanistan is now at a critical crossroads.I would see it differently. President Karzai himself clearly says that the coalition forces are not winning the fight against the Taliban and adds - very fittingly I would say - that winning the war against terrorism will be possible only if some of the Afghan Government's partners stop pursuing their own interests

Einerseits sieht der Bericht in den militärischen Operationen der Taliban keine direkte Bedrohung für die afghanische Souveränität , andererseits warnt er vor dem kritischen Scheideweg , an dem sich Afghanistan jetzt befindet.Ich sehe das anders. Präsident Karzai selbst ist der klaren Überzeugung , dass die Koalitionstruppen den Kampf gegen die Taliban nicht gewinnen können und fügt hinzu - sehr passend , wie ich meine - , das der Terrorismus nur dann wirksam bekämpft werden kann , wenn einige der afghanischen Regierungspartner aufhören , nur ihre eigenen Interessen zu verfolgen
