| Of course , there is more work to be done. Ongoing reforms are needed ; constant vigilance is necessary against the ability of mankind to interfere with , interrupt or corrode public life. That is why the safeguard clauses are there. But let us celebrate what has been achieved so far.I have only one small query and that concerns the ongoing difficulties in both countries with abandoned and orphaned children and children and young people with disabilities. They still do not get the levels of support , independence and protection they need.Many years ago , a greater Irishman than I am said , ‘Nobody or no group has the right to put a stop on the march of a nation’. We do not have the right to stop the reunification of Europe to correct the mistakes of history | Reformen bleiben an der Tagesordnung ; ständige Wachsamkeit ist notwendig als Schutz vor den allgegenwärtigen Versuchen , das öffentliche Leben zu stören , zu unterbrechen oder zu unterminieren. Dafür gibt es die Schutzklauseln. Doch erst einmal sollten wir das bisher Erreichte feiern.Ich habe nur eine kleine Anfrage , und zwar betrifft sie die Probleme , die es in beiden Ländern noch immer in Bezug auf ausgesetzte und verwaiste Kinder sowie behinderte Kinder und Jugendliche gibt. Ihnen werden noch immer nicht der Schutz und die Unterstützung und Unabhängigkeit zuteil , die sie brauchen.Vor vielen Jahren sagte ein größerer Ire , als ich es bin , einmal , dass niemand das Recht habe , sich dem Vormarsch eines Volkes in den Weg zu stellen. Wir haben kein Recht , uns der Wiedervereinigung Europas zur Korrektur der in der Vergangenheit gemachten Fehler in den Weg zu stellen |
