| Mr President , this document provides for the establishment of the .eu domain for use as the country code in URLs. Last night , it was as if I were watching a television programme on a huge television screen displaying these new .eu codes together with the customary national country codes .it , .de , .be and .es and so on , and it came to me that it would be a good idea to suggest to the rapporteur , Mrs Flesch , next time she documents this proposal , that the codes attached to the current URLs of the countries making up the European Union should be replaced with the .eu code , thus avoiding the national and European codes being in use concurrently. Heute Nacht habe ich gesehen , dass ähnlich wie bei einer Fernsehübertragung von einem Großbildschirm dieses neue Kürzel .EU zusammen mit den üblichen länderspezifischen Kürzeln .it , .de , .be , .es usw. erstrahlte , und ich hatte einen meines Erachtens nützlichen Einfall , den ich der Berichterstatterin , Frau Colette Flesch , für die nächste Erörterung dieses Vorschlags nahe legen möchte : In den Internet - Adressen sollten die am Ende stehenden länderspezifischen Abkürzungen der EU - Mitgliedstaaten durch das Abkürzungszeichen .EU ersetzt und auf die gleichzeitige Nennung der Länderbezeichnungen und des Bereichsnamens der Union verzichtet werden.
