Mr President , before I start , I find it quite amazing that first an Irishwoman says that Ireland has got absolutely nothing out of the European Union , and then someone from Northern Ireland said that trade policy has nothing to do with democracy

I believe they would not , and perhaps that is why they are not being asked.As an Irishwoman , as a proud European , I want my country to have the freedom to take decisions in the best interests of our people. I want all Member States , large and small , to enjoy that right equally
Würden die Menschen in Europa einen solchen Vertrag unterstützen. Ich glaube nicht , und das mag auch der Grund dafür sein , dass sie nicht gefragt werden.Als Irin und stolze Europäerin möchte ich , dass mein Land die Freiheit hat , Entscheidungen im besten Interesse unseres Volkes zu treffen
