Mrs Roth - Behrendt and others made reference to the fact that there are international implications. Of course there are. We cannot assume that because we have something under control in the European Union it is universally under control. It is not. Therefore , when Mrs Roth - Behrendt suggested that Commissioner Cresson should have responsibility for promoting discussions among the Americans and Japanese and so on , she is absolutely right. How quickly that can be done is another matter but I have no doubt whatsoever that we need a global solution to what is a global problem even if it has all arisen from a nine - month old sheep that is living in the equivalent of a sheep's Hilton Hotel at the moment
Natürlich gibt es die. Wir können nicht davon ausgehen , daß etwas , nur weil wir es innerhalb der Europäischen Union unter Kontrolle haben , auch universal unter Kontrolle ist. Das ist es nicht. Frau Roth - Behrendt liegt daher absolut richtig mit ihrem Vorschlag , daß Frau Kommissarin Cresson aufgefordert werden sollte , Diskussionen zwischen Amerikanern und Japanern usw. zu fördern. Wie schnell dies erfolgen kann , ist eine andere Frage. Für mich gibt es keinen Zweifel , daß wir eine globale Lösung für ein globales Problem benötigen , auch wenn das alles nur durch ein neun Monate altes Schaf entstanden ist , das zur Zeit so komfortabel untergebracht ist , daß es einem Hilton - Hotel für Schafe entspricht
