We must therefore work on an overall vision not only as regards the seas as such , but also as regards the strong relationship with the coastal areas and all things connected therewith : employment , environmental issues , regional development , economic development , investing in marine research and excellence , that is , in a whole series of sectoral policies that , if we tackle them together now , will make it possible to achieve greater cohesion and success in policies put into practice and therefore to attain greater social , economic and environmental sustainability , which is absolutely crucial
Daher müssen wir eine Gesamtvision entwickeln , und zwar nicht nur im Hinblick auf das Meer an sich , sondern auch im Hinblick auf die starke Einbindung der Küstenregionen und alle damit verbundenen Fragen : Beschäftigung , Umweltfragen , regionale Entwicklung , wirtschaftliche Entwicklung , Investitionen in die meereswissenschaftliche Forschung und die Spitzenforschung. Das sind eine ganze Reihe sektoraler Politiken , die es - wenn wir sie jetzt gemeinsam in Angriff nehmen - ermöglichen , mehr Kohärenz und mehr konkrete Umsetzungserfolge zu erzielen und somit eine größere soziale , wirtschaftliche und umweltpolitische Nachhaltigkeit zu erreichen , was absolut entscheidend ist
