We must avoid the twin dangers of suburbanization and depopulation. Above all , that means giving jobs and hope to young people. For example , there should be opportunities for young farmers , modern , light industrial estates on the edge of market towns , easy access to the information superhighway , sensitive development of tourism and recreation and new non - food uses for our skilled agricultural workforce.I welcome this Charter. I believe that the golden age of Europe's rural areas lies in the future not in the past
Wir müssen den beiden Gefahren des Wachstums von Vorstädten und der Landflucht entgegenwirken. Vor allen Dingen bedeutet dies die Schaffung von Arbeitsplätzen und neue Hoffnung für junge Menschen. So sollten Arbeitsplätze für junge Landwirte , moderne leichtindustrielle Betriebe in der Nähe von Marktflecken , ein leichter Zugang zum Informations - Superhighway , eine vernünftige Entwicklung des Fremdenverkehrs und der Naherholung und neue Arbeitsplätze im lebensmittelfremden Bereich für gelernte Arbeitskräfte aus der Landwirtschaft geschaffen werden.Ich begrüße diese Charta. Ich bin davon überzeugt , daß das goldene Zeitalter des ländlichen Raums in Europa vor und nicht hinter uns liegt
