It is appalling that such a precarious operation was set in motion without a proper assessment of the threat and without provision of key equipment capabilities prior to deployment. I am thinking in particular of the lack of helicopters. No European ally was willing to offer them. Now , as an afterthought , we are told that the Russians will provide the helicopters - not only that , but Russia wishes to participate in the mission

Ich denke dabei insbesondere an die fehlenden Hubschrauber. Kein europäischer Verbündeter war bereit , sie zur Verfügung zu stellen. Jetzt , im Nachhinein wird uns mitgeteilt , dass die Russen die Hubschrauber bereitstellen. Nicht nur das , Russland möchte auch an der Mission teilnehmen
