The European Union can achieve a great deal on that point , especially through the three Cs : coherence , complementarity and coordination. The Commissioner has often pointed that out and is working towards it. We can also do more about the proliferation of projects and programmes. If something is not going well , another programme is not always the best solution

The Commissioner is right in saying that we must provide more and better aid more quickly. We cannot do this by giving more money alone , even if we are talking about a few billion extra. It is great that Europe wants to free up more funds , and the Commission wants to remind the Member States of their financial commitments , but we need more than that. I am thinking first and foremost of what we can do in our own policy , about the three Cs of coordination , coherence and complementarity
Der Kommissar fordert zu Recht , es müsse mehr , bessere und schnellere Hilfe geleistet werden. Allein mit der Bereitstellung höherer Geldbeträge , selbst wenn es sich um ein paar zusätzliche Milliarden handelt , ist dies nicht möglich. Dass Europa umfassendere Finanzmittel freimachen und dass die Kommission die Mitgliedstaaten an ihre finanziellen Verpflichtungen erinnern möchte , ist zwar großartig , aber es ist mehr vonnöten. Als Erstes denke ich an unsere Handlungsmöglichkeiten im Rahmen unserer eigenen Politik , an die drei großen K – Koordinierung , Kohärenz und Komplementarität
