In order to perhaps understand this tragedy better , I will also refer to the tragedy which occurred at Cermis in the Dolomites , where an American military plane cut through a cablecar cable. Twenty people plunged to the ground in the cablecar and died. In this case , we know what happened because the plane was seen , but up till now , even in the Cermis tragedy , it is still not at all clear where the blame lies

In diesem Fall wissen wir , was geschehen ist , weil das Flugzeug gesehen wurde , doch ist die Schuldfrage selbst bei dem Unglück am Monte Cermis bis heute nicht ganz geklärt
Yes , let us spread the word about this old continent of ours , just as the United States of America now speaks with a single voice , and similarly certain Eastern bloc countries. Competition is worldwide. We have the reasons ; we lack the money. ECU 10.5 million to promote Europe. My region has 450 000 inhabitants - true enough , we can offer Lake Garda and the Dolomites - and alone spends ECU 7 million , almost as much as the European Union. Perhaps it is an example worth following. I hope that the Council will be forward - thinking on this issue
Setzen wir also der inzwischen einheitlichen Werbung der Vereinigten Staaten und einiger Ostblockländer die Werbung für unser altes Europa entgegen. Es gibt einen solchen Wettbewerb auf der Ebene der Globalisierung. Grund genug haben wir also , es fehlt nur an Geld : 10 , 5 Mio. ECU für die europaweite Förderung. In der Region , aus der ich komme , leben 450 000 Einwohner , wir haben den Gardasee und die Dolomiten zu bieten und wir geben allein 7 Mio. ECU für diesen Bereich aus , fast genausoviel wie die gesamte Europäische Union. Dieses Beispiel sollte Schule machen
