It must be built from the ground up. That was perhaps summed up by the Romanian writer Adrian Marino , when he wrote : – ‘We must bring Europe into our homes’.But there is work to be done in the European Union , too , to convince our citizens that the cost they are paying for the accession of Romania and Bulgaria is not a net negative. To explain to them , as the Špidla report showed us , that those countries which welcome new countries as partners gain economic benefits
In Rumänien und Bulgarien ist noch viel zu tun , damit die Europäische Union Realität werden kann. Wir errichten die Europäische Union zusammen. Sie wird nie nur von oben nach unten errichtet. Sie muss von der Basis aufwärts aufgebaut werden. Das hat der rumänische Schriftsteller Adrian Marino recht treffend in folgende Worte gefasst : – Wir müssen Europa in unsere Häuser holen.Aber auch in der Europäischen Union ist noch einiges zu tun , um unsere Bürger davon zu überzeugen , dass die für den rumänischen und bulgarischen Beitritt anfallenden Kosten unterm Strich nicht zu einem Negativsaldo führen. Wir müssen ihnen analog zum Bericht von Herrn Špidla klarmachen , dass Länder , die neue Länder als Partner begrüßen , wirtschaftlich profitieren. Wir müssen deutlich machen , dass die Investoren dorthin ziehen , wo die Lohnkosten niedrig sind , wenn wir den niedrigen Lohnkosten nicht gestatten , dorthin zu kommen , wo investiert wird. Von der Aufnahme neuer Länder wie Rumänien und Bulgarien in die Europäische Union hat jeder etwas
