| I extend a warm welcome to the Australian delegation , which is here to attend the 24th European Parliament/Australia Interparliamentary meeting , taking place here in Strasbourg on 14 and 15 June.The honourable Bruce Baird heads the Australian delegation , which is composed of three Members of the House of Representatives and two Members of the Senate.The European Parliament and the Australian Parliament initiated their direct political dialogue in 1981 and over the years this dialogue has encompassed a broad range of issues.
